Dave Tanis retired from the tech industry in September 2018 after spending 33 years living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. Following his retirement, he relocated to Pacific Grove.

Dave held various leadership roles that showcases his expertise across multiple domains. He served on the Board of Tanis Communications, a firm specializing in public relations, marketing communications, and brand strategy for high-tech companies. In the realm of product management, Dave led large-scale programs that delivered NetApp’s next-generation Enterprise and Entry products. Dave’s experience in enterprise information technology encompassed application programming, designing and building data center infrastructure, specifying and recommending data center systems, and managing IT personnel. His responsibilities included business analysis, pricing, forecasting, and product definition.

Dave also excels in system performance, leading teams at HP that produced industry-leading benchmark submissions for TPC-C, SPEC SFS, SPC-1, and other server and storage platforms. His work in customer experience involved developing and presenting roadmaps, gathering future product requirements, collecting market trend information, and providing customer support.
