Mike González

Mike González serves as Executive Director and President of Gateway Center, providing strategic and operational leadership for Monterey County’s leading nonprofit serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since joining the organization in 2025, he has led a comprehensive transformation, positioning Gateway Center for its next chapter of growth and impact.

Working closely with stakeholders, Mike oversees Gateway Center’s residential, day, and community-based programs. He leads strategic planning, financial management, regulatory compliance, fundraising, facilities planning, and development. His leadership is grounded in the belief that lasting community impact begins with building strong organizations, fostering collaborative leadership, and creating systems that enable people to thrive.

Growing up in a low-income community shaped Mike’s early commitment to public service. Over the past 20 years, he has dedicated his career to improving the health, well-being, and quality of life of vulnerable and underserved communities. He has held executive leadership positions with FIRST 5 Santa Clara County, Santa Clara Family Health Plan, the County of Santa Clara’s Division of Equity and Social Justice, and the American Heart Association. Throughout his career, Mike has been recognized for strengthening organizations to improve outcomes for children, families, immigrants, and people with disabilities.

Mike graduated from San José State University (Master of Public Administration) and California State University, Monterey Bay. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he serves on several boards advancing health, education, and community well-being. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, distance running, training his Golden Retriever puppy, and spending time with family and friends.

Joseph Sarto

Inspired by meaningful work, strong teams, and the opportunity to help people grow, Joseph Sarto approaches Human Resources with a thoughtful balance of care and accountability. He believes a thriving organization begins with employees who feel respected, informed, and supported. Through clear expectations, open communication, consistency, and trust, Joseph helps build a positive workplace culture that enables employees to do their best work in support of Gateway Center’s mission of empowering adults with intellectual and developmental Disabilities.

Since joining Gateway Center in May 2026, Joseph has led the organization’s day-to-day human resources operations, partnering closely with managers and staff on full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and policy guidance. He is passionate about creating efficient HR systems and processes that support employees while also providing managers with the tools and resources they need to lead successful teams.

Joseph brings a strong background in human resources, compliance, and organizational operations, with experience supporting multi-site teams through workplace transitions, training needs, and process improvements. His experience in service-focused and hospitality environments strengthened his focus on professionalism, communication, and exceptional employee engagement. Outside of work, Joseph enjoys classical music, fine food and wine, and learning through people with diverse backgrounds and new experiences.

Anjeanette (Angie) Nunez

Angie Nunez draws daily inspiration from witnessing the resilience, growth, and independence of the individuals she supports through Gateway Center. Seeing participants in the Supported and Independent Living Services (SLS/ILS) programs gain confidence, develop new skills, and overcome challenges fuels her commitment to providing compassionate care, encouragement, and advocacy every day.

Since joining Gateway Center in 2016 as the SLS/ILS Program Manager, Angie channels this inspiration into managing the day-to-day operations of the SLS/ILS programs. She ensures each individual’s care plan reflects their personal goals, preferences, and needs and is supported with a quality team. She also oversees a comprehensive scope of logistics—from scheduling and payroll to medical management and regulatory compliance, Angie recruits, trains, and mentors SLS/ILS staff while building trusting, responsive relationships with families and regional center coordinators.

Angie’s decade of leadership is backed by a foundational background in both care and administration. She has past experience as an Instructional Aide with the Monterey County Office of Education and certifications in medical front office operations from Shoreline Workforce Center and studies at Hartnell College. A lifelong local, Angie graduated from Salinas High School and remains deeply dedicated to helping Monterey County individuals thrive.

Greg Dinsmore

For Greg Dinsmore, his role as Day Program Manager at Gateway Center is more than a career—it is a lifelong mission. As an individual living with a developmental disability himself, Greg brings an innate understanding of the vital role support staff play in the lives of the participants he serves. Driven by gratitude for his own independence, he is inspired daily to ensure Gateway Center’s program participants are afforded the same opportunities to lead meaningful, person-centered lives and experience a true sense of belonging in their community.

Greg’s impactful leadership is backed by an extraordinary 39-year career working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including nearly 25 years in program management. His experience spans state institutions, independent living programs, senior day programs, community employment, and community-based day programs.

Greg first worked for Gateway Center from 1997 to 2000 and rejoined the organization in his current role in 2024. He utilizes his unique life and career experiences to successfully manage both the Medical Day Services and Community Day Services programs. Supervising a team of 25 employees, Greg leads recruitment and training while overseeing program compliance and funding. Under his leadership, Gateway Center’s day programs prioritize person-centered, community-based experiences that empower participants to become active and valued members of society.

Outside of work, Greg enjoys spending time with his family, walks on the beach, camping, and tending and training his small flock of Birmingham roller pigeons.

 

Jayla Settnek

For Jayla Settnek, the most rewarding part of her work is witnessing the individuals she supports grow in independence, achieve their personal goals, and enjoy meaningful opportunities within their communities. Inspired by each person’s potential, she is passionate about advocating for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and helping them lead fulfilling, self-directed lives. As Gateway Center’s Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) for Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) Services, Jayla oversees the coordination and delivery of person-centered care that promotes the health, safety, independence, and quality of life of every resident.

Since joining Gateway Center in 2023, Jayla has led the organization’s ICF services by supervising staff and interdisciplinary consultants, overseeing Individual Program Plans (IPPs), supporting regulatory compliance, coordinating with healthcare providers and Regional Centers, and ensuring services reflect each individual’s unique strengths, goals, and needs.

Jayla brings extensive experience across residential, community-based, Regional Center, and statewide service systems. A current State System of Care Unit member with the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and a former Residential Service Coordinator with Alta California Regional Center, she understands how to navigate complex systems to secure vital resources. Her experience includes case management, behavioral support, crisis intervention, and regulatory compliance.

Jayla holds a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University Sacramento. Outside of work, Jayla enjoys listening to music, traveling, exploring new destinations, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Johnnie Ivey

Johnnie Ivey’s dedication to the disability community is rooted in family. Having grown up with family members with disabilities, he developed an early passion for helping those in need and an appreciation for the importance of compassionate support. It’s this deep personal connection that inspires his work every day at Gateway Center.

Since joining Gateway in 2023, Johnnie has served as the Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) for Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) 2 Services. In this role, he oversees the daily operations of one of Gateway Center’s Intermediate Care Facilities, ensuring high-quality care for up to 15 residents while leading and supporting a team of more than 20 staff members.

He is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment where residents can build independence and are supported in achieving their goals.

Johnnie brings a diverse background in leadership and service to his role. A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he also earned a Master’s degree in Policy and Development from the Middlebury Institute. His professional experience, combined with his personal connection to the disability community, allows him to lead with empathy, accountability, and a strong commitment to excellence in care.

For fun, Johnnie enjoys Disney movies and the Marvel Universe.

Siauro Katoa

What inspires Siauro Katoa most is seeing the individuals she supports grow in confidence, gain independence, and achieve their personal goals. Rooted in the belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, Siauro brings a deeply personal dedication to her work, grateful to lead a team that makes a positive difference every single day.

As the Administrator of the Reindollar Adult Residential Facility, Siauro oversees daily operations and leads staff to ensure high-quality, person-centered care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this role, she fosters a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment designed to help residents achieve greater independence and an improved quality of life.

Siauro has dedicated over 12 years to Gateway Center. She began her career in Residential Care, assisting the facility’s transition into an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF-II) by leading staff training and regulatory compliance. She later spent six and a half years as the Program Manager for the Salinas Senior Day Program, overseeing specialized services for older adults before stepping into her current administrator role in early 2025.

With extensive professional certifications and training, Siauro holds both Adult Residential Facility (ARF) and Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) Administrator Certifications, and has training in compliance, infection prevention, crisis intervention, and more.

Outside of work, Siauro cherishes spending time with her family and traveling back to her island homeland to reconnect with the vibrant culture, traditions, and values that shape who she is today.

Traci De Oliveira

Helping individuals with developmental disabilities build meaningful, unique connections inspires Traci De Oliveira in her role as Community Integration Program Manager. Throughout her career, Traci has worked alongside individuals and families during pivotal moments in their lives, learning the importance of meeting people where they are and recognizing that every person’s journey is different. Those experiences continue to guide her commitment to helping individuals thrive through Gateway Center’s community integration programs.

Since joining Gateway Center in 2022, Traci has focused on creating meaningful opportunities for volunteerism, recreation, and social engagement that encourage individuals to become active participants in their communities. By fostering a safe, supportive environment, she helps each person develop life skills, build confidence and independence, and cultivate a true sense of belonging in their community.

Before joining Gateway Center, Traci spent 14 years at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, working in the Emergency Department and Laboratory Services. Supporting patients and families through critical moments in their lives strengthened her communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills while reinforcing the value of compassionate, person-centered care. Today, she brings that same approach to her work at Gateway Center, creating opportunities for growth, inclusion, and meaningful community participation.

Outside of work, Traci enjoys cheering on her active, sports-loving teenagers, supporting their many activities, and encouraging them to thrive in both sports and life.
