What happens when a clear mission, a dedicated team, and a generous community come together? You get a recipe for success!
Thanks to the incredible support of our donors and community partners, Gateway Center’s Intermediate Care Facility (ICF 2) kitchen renovation has moved from a long-standing need to a project that is becoming a reality.
From a Need to a Vision
At Gateway Center, we believe that creating happier, healthier, and more independent lives for individuals in our care happens in the everyday moments.
For the residents of ICF 2, the kitchen and dining area are the heart of the home—a place to gather, practice daily life skills, build independence, and spend time together. However, after years of heavy love and use, the existing kitchen became worn and outdated, no longer providing the safe, accessible, and welcoming environment our residents deserve.
In Spring 2026, Gateway Center launched a targeted campaign to tackle this challenge, setting out to raise $50,000 toward the overall $75,000 renovation project.
A Community Comes Together
Over the course of five months, our community helped us surpass our original campaign goal, raising $58,000! That brings us within reach of the $75,000 needed to complete the project.
We are continuing to raise funds for the remaining balance while moving forward with plans for the renovation.
Every donation—large or small—has helped bring us closer to creating a kitchen where residents can share meals, practice important life skills, and enjoy time together in a space designed with their needs in mind.
What’s Next?
With $58,000 raised, we are officially transitioning into the planning and remodeling phase.
Our goal is to complete the renovation in time for Thanksgiving 2026. Imagine a bright, modern space where individuals can enjoy meals, build daily routines, celebrate the holidays, and gather with dignity every day.

A Winter Celebration
Once the renovation is complete, we want to celebrate our beautiful new kitchen and the community that made it possible.
We are planning a special winter celebration in the new space, bringing together donors, community partners, staff, and friends of Gateway Center for an evening of food, fellowship, and gratitude.
It will be a chance to celebrate the many everyday moments of connection, learning, and independence that will happen in this space for years to come.
Stay connected with us for official dates and updates as construction begins!
