On July 25, Gateway Center traveled to San Jose to participate in the 10th Annual San Andreas Regional Center Superhero Walk, Run, Roll & Summer Festival, bringing together individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, families, service providers, and community partners.
Representing Gateway Center
This year, Gateway Center took a different approach to our resource booth. Individuals from our Day Program helped welcome visitors, share information about our programs and services, and represent the organization alongside Gateway Center employees.
Their participation reflected an important part of our mission: creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build confidence, engage with others, and actively participate in their communities.
Strengthening Community Partnerships
The 2026 SARC Superhero Walk Run Roll also provided an opportunity for Gateway Center to connect with families, fellow service providers, and partners throughout the developmental disabilities community.
Gateway Center leaders and participants spent the day building connections with organizations and colleagues, including San Andreas Regional Center and Hope Services, who share our commitment to creating greater opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We are grateful to SARC for bringing the community together and look forward to returning next year.
